Overview

What GovIntel is

GovIntel is a read-only governance assessment of one AWS account, scored deterministically and delivered as a dated board pack PDF.

Currentengine 9.0.0Verified 2026-08-30

GovIntel reads the configuration of one AWS account, scores what it finds against a published methodology, and produces a dated PDF written for a board rather than for an engineering team.

It is a measurement, not an opinion. Every number in the board pack is derived from evidence the assessment actually collected, and the pack prints the thresholds and weights that produced it so a reader can recompute the result.

What it is not

GovIntel is not an audit, not a certification, and not an assurance engagement. No auditor is engaged, no opinion is issued, and nothing GovIntel produces attests compliance with a framework. It answers a narrower question: what should this board know about how this AWS environment is governed.

The shape of an engagement

StageWho actsWhat happens
IntakeYouA short form; nothing technical
AuthorizationYouOne CloudFormation stack creates one read-only role
VerificationGovIntelA real run assumes the role and checks the boundary
AssessmentGovIntelCollectors run, controls are checked, the pack is scored
DeliveryYouThe board pack arrives through your own portal

What is assessed

Three governance domains are scored: security, resilience and cost. A domain the evidence cannot support is reported as not assessed and excluded from the overall score, never scored as zero.
